Old John
Bradgate Park was home to Lady Jane Grey. It’s now public parkland. Old John was built on a volcanic rock. It’s shaped like a jug in memory of a drunken retainer and it’s a great place for kids to play.
A quadragintal is a blog of exactly 40 words.
Bradgate Park with its 850 acres of parkland
is situated just outside the City.
A photograph of Old John borrowed from the Wikipedia site
40 words that open up opportunities for research. I'm searching already. Cheers to Old John.
ReplyDeleteDrinking aside... looks like a great place to hike with your dog.

Looks like a lovely place, and it makes me laugh that it is shaped like a jug, how funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat place! That's funny that it's shaped like a jug. Very picturesque though, up on that hill.
