A to Z of Leicester: P is for...

Phoenix Arts Centre - Phoenix Square

I met my husband in the old Phoenix Arts in their friendly folk club. They’ve built a new Phoenix now, with all mod cons and facilities, but that old, dusty one will always have a special place in my heart.

A quadragintal is a blog of exactly 40 words.

  1. That's another one that I'm not aware of. Does the old one still stand?

  2. The new centre looks like an interesting place, but I can imagine nothing beats an old arts centre where so much has happened. If those walls could speak ...

Then again, that's what other generations in the future will say about the 'new' centre.

  3. The new one looks very nice, but I can't help but like the old one. Old buildings like that can have so much character.

  5. I liked the old one too but it was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter (or funnily enough too hot!) and the seats were not great. The new one is my choice of cinema in Leicester now. So comfy and such great picture/sound and (slightly) cheaper than the mulitplexes.

    Be well.
