Some people think that cats are all the same. They’re not.
They each have their own distinct personalities and, with Anne Mackle’s permission, I’m
going to ask my cats the questions that she passed on to me as part of the
Kreativ Blogger Award on her blog, Is Anyone There? Their answers will prove that the
only thing my cats have in common is the colour of their fur.
In case you’ve not met my girls this is Mabel:
And this is Charlie:
And here goes with the questions:
1. What is your favourite song? [I know! Cats don’t sing but
my two have very different voices, look...]
Mabel: “Brrrrp”
Charlie: “Meeeoooo”
2. What is your favourite food?
Mabel: “Whiskas Bite N’Chew.”
Charlie: “Whiskas Bite N’Chew today but tomorrow I may have
gone off it.”
3. What ticks you off?
Mabel: “Humans trying to cuddle me. Yaaark!”
Charlie: “Closed doors. I have to open all doors so I can explore.”
4. What do you do when you’re upset?
Mabel: “I drop down into a little gap at the back of the
desk and I hide.”
Charlie: “I find someone’s lap to sit on.”
5. What is your
biggest fear?
Mabel: “Humans cuddling me, Yaaark!”
Charlie: “Having to go back to that homeless cat shelter!”
Mabel: “Oh yea, that as well.”
6. What is your
attitude to life?
Mabel: “My face often looks grumpy but I’m not really...
unless a human tries to cuddle me. Yaaark!”
Charlie: “I love this place and everything’s so fascinating
that I have to explore, unless it’s scary. I’m not as brave as Mabel.”
Mabel: “Soooo true! It’s always me who chases off cats and squirrels while you sit and watch through the window!”
7. What is perfection?
Mabel: “Watching birds from under a bush in the garden.”
Charlie: “Stretching out in the conservatory with the sun on
my tummy and sleeping on the bed while the humans have an early morning cup of
tea.”
Mabel: “How could you do that, Charlie? Sitting on their
bodies! Yaaark!”
8. What is your guilty pleasure?
Mabel: “Bringing a live mouse into the house and watching
the humans race round trying to catch it.”
Charlie: “Opening cupboard doors after the humans have spent
ages fitting new cat-proof catches.”
Wouldn't it be a boring world if all cats were the same!
Do pop over and visit Anne sometime soon at Is Anyone There? We have a lot in common and we only found out through blogging. Isn’t this blogging world a fascinating place!
Great interviews, Rosalind. You have made me wonder what would happen if I interviewed my daughter's dogs.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun read! I daren't interview my cat - I think she'd complain about how little attention she gets from me, the standard of her food, the noise of the mower and hoover and a whole host of other things....
ReplyDeletelove it Rosalind! It's got me thinking about my two Siamese, who are sisters but with very different characters. I think I'll try these questions on them tonight.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm just dying for a cat cuddle...yaaaark
ReplyDeleteThis is too cute! I cracked up about Mabel's many "yaaarks!" I think she and my cat are related.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitties! :)
Hi Bob, do give it a try. It's quite an eye opener to discover what they say!
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, do give it a go. She might surprise you with her answers. They're very independent... most of the time!
Hi Rosemary, can't wait to hear what your two have to say for themselves. We think ours are sisters but you never know with rescues.
Hi Delores, as long as you don't come and cuddle Mabel. Charlie's up for it though!
Hi Julie, it's funny how some cats love it and others don't, just like us humans and thanks, they are rather beautiful, aren't they :-)
Ha Ha, what a lovely take on the questions,I wish I had thought of that,I could have had my dog answering them. I had a lovely grey cat very similar to yours called Jake I will have to find a photo of him to show you. Cats are all so different.
ReplyDeleteThese were wonderful interviews. I love getting into my two dogs' heads here and there. Sir Poops and Hair Ball.
ReplyDeleteAwww...Charlie!!! Can I have him if you get tired of him :-) And Mabel sounds fabulous. *sigh* I love cats.
ReplyDeleteHi Ros .. what great cats - love Mabel - she does look quite strong with attitude ... while Charlie - well if he wants a wander down here I'll look after him for a while!
ReplyDeleteRather smart cats though .. love their colour .. cheers Hilary
How funny. How sweet! Love them both....
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the interviews. So, Mabel doesn't like to be cuddled, huh? Yaaark! They are both very beautiful cats.
ReplyDeleteWonderful interview Rosalind.
ReplyDeleteI had a cat many years ago when she was 10 yrs she was diagnosed with diabetes and I had to inject her twice daily. She was a great comfort to me when my husband passed away. sadly two later I had to part with her that's when I felt really alone.
Yvonne.
What fun you had with this, Ros!
ReplyDeleteOur Ellie has her talkative days and then her too quiet ones. But she's a charmer and a keeper.
ReplyDeleteYes we do make some great new connections by blogging.
Once in a while one not welcomed because of improper etiquette appears but we have the dance to block that one :)
Thanks for stopping by.
Wouldn't anyone else talk to you?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, my cat is getting really gobby in her old age, and when she swears at another cat her language is dreadful.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to be a car? Not just any cat, but one belonging to the woman who writes in the rain. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what they put in that Bite N'Chew but our lot are addicted to the stuff! They won't eat the normal stuff now, and we've got 8 moggies in our house
ReplyDeleteMabel and Charlie sound like real characters! I love that mabel brings you mice to freak you out and Charlie delights in proving nothing is cat-proof :) We had a cat (Jiffy, short for Iphigenia) who used to catch mice, play with them for a bit, and then put them in the bathtub to save for later - somehow she figured out they couldn't get out of there. My mom would find them and rescue them. One time one of them bit her and she told it it was an ungrateful wretch :)
ReplyDeleteI love this post. Beautiful pictures of beautiful cats too. They both look lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful cats you have. They sound a lot like ours. Barney is very cuddly - unless you try to pick him up. Fluffy will crawl onto your lap as soon as you sit down. And Maisie delights in bringing us dead things from the garden. (And scratching the carpet up.)
ReplyDeleteLove it! For some reason, I have a feeling Mabel doesn't like to be held and cuddled! :)
ReplyDeleteCats! They're always up to something. You just wait. One day the Queen Cat will give the directive, and then they will take over the world. And there's nothing we can do to stop it.
ReplyDeleteOne upon a time, I had a female and a male cat and they would have answered in exactly the same way. She didn't like to be petted, he liked to explore. I miss them.Yours are beautiful.
