"He's just what we need in the garden!" he said. "He'll eat all the slugs and snails before they can eat our hostas. Don't scare him off!"
So I went out and took his photograph...
...but I think he was a bit camera shy because he ran away. Sorry Mr A. Sorry hostas.
I may be some time... *last seen rummaging around in bushes looking for cute little hedgehog*
On Monday, 7th May I'll be joining the A to Z bloggers giving my feedback on the experience. Now let me see. What did I think of it? And while we're at it, what did YOU think of it?
Tempt him back with cat food, and make sure there's a ramp in your garden pond - we nearly drowned a hedgehog years ago by building a pond without ramps.
ReplyDeleteHi Lizy, thanks for the comment. I suspect my fat cats would eat his cat food, even if it was put in a dish marked hedgehog so that's not an option. Fortunately we don't have a pond but next door does. Hmmm. Wonder if they have a ramp.
ReplyDeleteCat food should work.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen our's this year yet. Can't encourage them enough.
ReplyDeleteOh he's lovely. We used to have a hedgehog in the garden I think the dogs must have scared him away.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, I love the wild life and this post was right up my street.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
He's sweet! And he deserves a story to be written about him. Go on, Ros!
ReplyDeleteOh, that hedgehog is adorable. I hope you can lure him back. As for the A-Z follow-up, I thought we were supposed to do that next Wednesday. Whenever it is, I reckon I'll throw my three cents' into the mix. (inflation)
ReplyDeleteI love hedgehogs! That one is adorable! I hope he comes back. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never done an A-Z challenge and I don't know if I will. I'm overwhelmed by you brave souls posting every day and can hardly keep up. I can't imagine the blog posts myself! :)
What I just wrote makes no sense! Ignore me!! I think I meant to say "writing the blog posts myself." *Slinks back into the corner* :D
ReplyDeleteWe don't have hedgehogs here, but I've always thought they had some magic about them. I guess it was my early reading of Alice in Wonderland. Didn't the queen use hedgehogs as balls in the croquet game?
ReplyDeleteHedgehogs are so darn cute!! Hope he comes back :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little hedgehog. : )
ReplyDeleteA hedgehog would make a fine addition to your garden. We've got peafowl--a cock and two hens. I've noticed none of the little feathery visitors flick through the bark any more. I guess you have to give up smaller friends if you encourage the large ones.
ReplyDeleteHi there, thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment. I have never had any ads with my playlist and have been real happy with it. I enjoyed the A-Z and sort of miss it I think. Writing is easier when you are directed:)
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! I hope he comes back to enrich your garden and your hostas. I enjoyed the Challenge a lot this year. There's been so much great feedback about it. I think this was the best year yet overall.
ReplyDeleteAw! He's so sweet... what a cutie! Lovely photo, too.
ReplyDeleteAww, he is so adorable! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi, Ros
ReplyDeleteI love hegehogs. See my blog post dated 8 March 2011!
Really missing my daily nostalgia trips. I was such fun!
xxPat
Lovely pic. I've not seen a hedgehog for ages and ages, are they becoming rare?
