Five February Favourites

1.  When the sun shines you can feel warmth and the promise of spring.

2.  The snowdrops are amazing.

3.  There are no family birthdays/anniversaries in February so I’m saved that difficult question that begins, “What do you want for…”

4.  The nights are starting to get lighter but it’s still proper dark for bedtime. [Don’t you hate going to bed when it’s still light out?]

5.  My brain can finally stop singing that irritating Slade song, “So here it is, Merry Chr…..” Gah! Now I’m singing it again!

Do you have a February favourite?

  5. *sigh* Our temperatures rose to the freezing level yesterday but we're down way below with icy winds and freezing rain today! I love your snowdrops though!!!

  6. lovely. We are pretty much brown and dreary in Texas. We've warmed up but the wind is so berserk, you can't stand outside. Bad hair days. And the allergy pollen count is through the roof. I hope for spring soon, but I can't blink or it could pass me by. Enjoy the rest of February

  7. The snowdrops! Yes, that's what's special, and the lengthening days. Lovely to leave work in the light!

  8. Hi Ros .. love Spring and yes when it's sunny - it just makes such a difference .. and the carpets of snowdrops are out, the daffs are coming and the crocuses are appearing ... I must get to London and see the Crocuses in Hyde Park - they're special ... The birds are singing away down here ... cheers and enjoy all the goodies of Spring .. Hilary

  9. It's our month for birthdays, so there's always plenty of cake about.

And lambs - sometimes the January lambs make it into the fields in February. It's a bit sloshy this year, even on the Downs, but they still lift my spirits.

(I think of snowdrops as belonging to January - the difference a hundred miles or so further south makes!)

  10. A good set of reasons, Ros, though we have a few birthdays this month. And we don't get snowdrops in Tenerife. And the sun is warm most of the time. But the days are getting longer here too, and the song going through my head is Country and Western!
